gilded foliage carpets the pathways.

looking into each others eyes.

hand in hand.

fragrant fall air gets thin as we move close together.

we kiss, the way we kiss.

nothing else exists except bliss.

Babalon comes forth from beyond the abyss.

Veiled in ashen silt.

Eyes lit like the hermits lantern.

She moves through the haze like a Shamshir in War.

Bringing Lust for fools needy of Conquest.

Chaos, greed and the inferno of madness that rape until no thing is left alive, her hounds that follow through the darkness.

Unveiled.

Blazing red scarlet.

All wantonness assuaged her will to cause Famine and Death is set.

In her wake may there be nothing left but Truth.

This is what Babalon brings from beyond the abyss.

I hoped the apex of the process would be a feeling of readiness

and I would come to know that feeling well.

But sometime between the wanting and wasting

I threw virtue from the edge of an arête.

Only to bloody my hands and knees crawling through the past to get It back.

Stepping forward, and back again

process persisted with courage, and with doubt.

Void of purpose in every way

readiness proved to be illusory.

Still, I feel

despite knowing there is no apex for the Anti-hero.

When I hear her Bratsche sing that lilting euphony I will think of you, in my own way.

I hope you look back into the measures, and feel the weight of each bar.

As I do.

No thing can be mistaken for the sound of anvils smashing pianos.
